i tried once before on DG to get this wild rose identified & it was id'd as Seven sisters but it doesn't meet all the specs of SS
specifically the leaves

What size are the blooms? It reminds me of Dorothy Perkins, a once-bloomer with small blooms in large clusters, no fragrance, and a horrible habit of developing powdery mildew.

It's a climber, but it will spread out horizontally if it has nothing to climb.

but i have never seen the mildew ?

Well, it can't be Dorothy with blooms that large. Dorothy's are about half that size. The search continues.

It looks like a hybrid wichurana, but a search for a pink hybrid wichurana on HMF brought up 11 pages, many without photos, so I couldn't find anything definitive there.

I'm trying to think of roses that grow wild in Northern California. What about De la Grifferaie? It's growing wild all over the place. It's a once-bloomer with a medium-sized bloom, but it has a strong scent.
