I bought some young cactus, and wanted to compliment the colors of the cactus with each other, but mostly wanted to make the Red Headed Cactus pop. I believe I achieved that with this burgundy colored pot. Plants in pot identified below:

Pot of various cactus, Red headed Irishman cactus, aka Mammillaria spinosissima (Front), False Saquaro or "Cardon, Pachycereus pringlei (Left), pilosocereus azureus (Back), balloon cactus aka notocactus magnificus (Left),

Which also inspired me to start displaying my plants where everyone could see them, instead of tucked back by my citrus trees where only I see them. So found these too plant shelves on Craigs list for $15 a piece, and cleaned up my cob webby old pots, transplanted plants, and moved them into the plant stands on the patio. My friends who visit often on weekends noticed them right away, and had nice compliments.

My only disappointemtn was, these pots with there plants were to large to fit on the shelves, because of the clearance between the bottom and the top shelves :(

Very attractive. And the pots that are too big can go in front or by the sides of the shelves, surely?

Nice arrangements! I have not touched my garden outdoors..been walking around trying to see what I will do or not do Big Grin The big containers can go on the sides..like a big anchor effect I think Smiling

I only have room for one pot on one side. Too the left, that is my pathway out to my citrus trees, to get fresh oranges or ruby red grapefruit for breakfast in the morning. I could put one of the pots to the left of the stand though, right where the center block is. I have a big narrow pot that is empty out in the back by my bbq grill. I could turn it upside down, and put the other pot on top of that, by the center post. I guess I would have to take a picture of my patio for you to understand that. It's about 8 feet x 20 feet, maybe 25 feet. With three posts holding up the awning. One on each end, and one in the center. I could put the big narrow pot upside down by the center post, and put the extra pot on top of it. Or one of those single pot stands...I think I have one lying around somewhere....lol! We gardeners sure can collect a lot of clutter over the years..huh!! I finally took a whole bunch of pots I had been saving for whatever, and returned them to Bakers nursery to recycle and use again. They were very thankful for them!!

Well at least you have an awning, so the succulents can take some shelter...my garden has no awning so all my plants are at the mercy of the elements..I do not want to tangle with our HOA about setting up an awning.

Yup, I have a lot of clutter too! Sometimes I feel my dear hubby glaring at me coz our garage has a corner full of gardening stuff which seems to never end Big Grin I just have to keep pointing out to him that am no magician, and even a magician needs his tools, so I need mine for my garden Big Grin
