Thread OP

I just moved into my new place and am excited about my large front yard, but I'm new to having a yard and hoped to get some design ideas. My front yard is a long rectangle with a straight with a sidewalk down there middle. I like the geometric modern feel, but I also don't want to end up with a green landing strip. I live in the Salt Lake City area of Utah.

What are your thoughts?

It was many years ago that I visited Salt Lake City and I remember the boulders and ornamental grasses used in landscapes. Here is my idea...

I like that design. Looks good with the house and the shape of the yard. Plus keeps the modern feel. Thumbs up

Do you want more flowers or do you want to keep it low maintenance and focused more on shape? His design is low maintenance and low water needs but there are also some flowers that will accomplish the same thing.

Hi there.... I lost all my grass on my front yard last summer. Now I have to replace it. Not happy!
I live in near Toronto, ON Canada. I live in a subdivision- my yard is a long rectangle with a large rock in it... that is it :(
I want to add low maintenance plants and bushes... need design and layout tips.
Please help! Many thanks. Laura
