thank you robin, mika, and evelyn.
technically, it's not considered a rebloomer, evelyn. it's a mid to late, and i planted it mid-september of 2017. i also had a confused late 'naughty nights', that was posted on the last few days of december. 'nn' is considered a late bloomer. ('nn' was it's 1st time blooming, planted 2016). that said, i don't know if some of my "lates" are going to be blooming in oct., nov., dec., and maybe even jan.?
because if it's the cooling off or chill they need to prompt them to bloom late, after the hot summer? i'm not sure".
typically, we don't start cooling down in the evenings until after halloween.
since my iris garden in san diego is 3 years new, there's not been enough 'go-around ' experience with the seasons for me to say anything with authority. but checking with other iris enthusiasts at the sdis, they have told me, " expect to have bloom all year long. but, don't expect huge clumps of muliple bloom stalks." another member has said, "you'll be lucky to have two or three stalks at a time."
in one respect, it will be great to have irises blooming 10 or so months out of the year. but, i won't be seeing the huge clumps that most of you will be enjoying, when the irises are showing off in their splendid glory.☹️
