Do you ever sort-of know a name and can't spell it well enough to find it in a search? The plant database here can help by using the wildcard symbol!

For example, azalea. Maybe you get to azal & then are not sure if it's ea or ae. You could search for " azal* " and find it.

Or you might know a species well by heart, Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi is one of my favs that took me a few tries to memorize. I look it up often but it's cumbersome to type over and over. I can search for " kal* fed* " and it pops right up.

Have fun!

This seems like the most noticeable place to post this unless moderators feel it should go in database forum, and please move if so.

I don't think you need the "wild card" symbol (*). "kal* fed*" and "kal fed" yield the same answers. Sometimes the results come up in a different order, but they always seem to be the same..... Confused
