My philosophy on iris hybridizing is that its all about the journey. The end result is just the cap off :)
-- here is another of my seedlings that I like a lot, but will only use as a parent, due to the common nature of this color pattern. Like Brad has already done, to great success -- i'll be incorporating more Blyth iris into my iris crossing efforts

And my main hybridizing goal is better Greens so I can just imagine :sad:
Maybe like some dog breeders , I will give away all my less than desirable pups and this will become known as the town of of ugly (off-colored chartreuse) Irises

I don't think there is any part of Australia that could come close to what we call zone 4

I think USDA Zone 7 is the lowest we have (and that's only in the Great Dividing Range and Tasmania).
