I am on my knees begging you for help tonight!
I bought this machine and I have read 5 hours straight and tried every setting on it
The book is hard to understand. I find it harder than a new camera.

Picture below
what I want to do is set the length in auto settings for 3 inch ..no more than 3.2 inches length
for each white label...with black letters for the machine to print..
So that all markers have same length label...I am going to put the new labels on my stainless steel markers and want them all to look alike in length and same large print font.

I have the one inch tape ..to go with the machine..
It uses l inch..

HOwever I can not set the large font I want.
Also I can not find anywhere that says you can choose 2 lines
All I want to do is use large print and it cut it off at 3 inches..

It gives options of 1 to 5 lines and odd font sizes on each one..
for instance if you choose 3 lines it might be one font size for lst line and another size font for next line.

Is there anyone that has this machine or can tell me if I choose automated setting
will it allow me to cut and print at 3 inches length..

And how to get it to just use 2 lines at the most for me to type the daylily name on it?

Picture below..
Grateful for your help.

"I don't have that model, but found this about setting the text line by line:
http://support.brother.com/g/b...

Is that what you are wanting to do?

Below is in the PT-D600 manual,, so if size is set to auto, it takes away the option to make the font large.
Setting Auto Fit Style
When [Size] is set to [Auto] and [Length] is set to a specific length, you
can reduce the text size to fit within the label length. When [Text Size] is
selected, the total text size is modified to fit within the label. When [Text
Width] is selected, the text width will be reduced to the size of x1/2
setting.

• The 6 point font only prints in Helsinki, no other font type.
• When [Size] is set to [Auto] and all the text is entered in uppercase,
the text is automatically adjusted to print in the largest font size
possible for each tape width. This font size is larger than the largest
font size available in the font settings for each tape width.

Sheri,
I don't own this model, but when I need to know 'how-to' on something I'm not sure about, I often turn to youtube...someone on there usually has a video on how to do whatever it is I'm in need of...just a thought of course.

I put in the number for your machine and here were the results that it came up with. Maybe something is there that can help you:

I youtube also. A video on doing something is the closest thing to seeing it in person. Some instructions are not always clear.

You may contact the manufacturer, sometimes they have tutorial videos on their website to show customers how a product works.

Sheri, I have a much older P-touch and the nice thing is once I get it all programmed how I like it, the changes seem to stay. I use a hard-return to get to the second line - it shows up on the screen as an arrow. I can also set the label length to a specific size, set the font size, and choose a font style. The function key is my friend. Hope you figure it out, they really do work well for plant labels, although there is also a fair amount of 'waste' when printing them out. Maybe they've corrected that (my model is a 1280 and is at least 8 years old).
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

I have an older model too, I like it on the whole, multi lines, fonts and sizes. My big complaint is that it does not hold my settings. I am sure I need to upgrade, but I bought a bunch of tapes years ago on clearance to fit my machine. I bet they have changed those too, my label maker is at least 10 years old. Best way of labeling plants I have found
