This one opened in the bright sunshine this morning. It is SDB Little Blue Eyes hybridized in 1993 by John Weiler.




This one blooms early consistently. It has really good formed blooms and nice beards. I will try and get a shade pic of it later on today. Next to open will be Gizmo The Gremlin. That one should be open tomorrow.

Little Blue Eyes is very, very nice.

I love blue all year around and yellow is especially spirit lifting in spring and autumn.

Little SDB Gizmo The Gremlin finally opened this afternoon.




This one, registered in 1998 was hybridized by Darlene Pinegar. This one blooms every year but does not increase well here. It may be in a location that does not get enough sun. I may move it this summer.

Gizmo opened up for me today!

I need to go take a photo of it before it's eaten.

Daphne, if it helps, Bonnie sent me Little Blue Eyes, which I planted in the "hotter'n Hades" strip between sidewalk and street. Heavy clay soil, no supplemental water, and Dallas summertime temperatures. Doing well so far.

thanks for the input, debra. i'm not too worried about the heat, it's the cold we don't have. very rare 30's and 40 degree days or nights. but will keep that particular iris in mind because i love the color combo with those fantastic blue beards!

Hear that, Daphne. And I read the original questions about lack of cold--I just forgot. That said, we get very little cold. Some, but not much. Best part about the little ones is you can try them without taking up a lot of room.

Bonnie, let me know if you have extra of Little Blue Eyes to divide later. It is such a cutie!
