I would love to trade cuttings @Carolinesgarden but it would have to be in summer. I don't overwinter any so I'd have to wait til I get my new ones when the weather warms up. Smiling

@Tpetti1 it is best not to post your email address on these threads/forums because this is a public website. To send messages within this site just click on the envelope symbol at the top right of any page. Smiling I will contact you about coleus trades the same way.

I'd be interested in trading cuttings later this year. I started with one coleus last summer and have dozens of cuttings from that one now. I got hooked & went a bit nuts buying lots of new varieties this year, so I'll have plenty for swapping once they grow a bit.

How do you all who have swapped cuttings before like to do it? Do you just clip and send, or root them first? And how to pack them to survive the trip? What temperatures are considered too warm for shipping?

80s pushing temps .. but if they are rooted and wrapped with moist paper towel.. baggie on the roots .. is how I shipped .. I have shipped just cuttings unrooted .. the same way .. sometimes add water gels to the paper towel .. usually easy to ship

I am adding "a few" new varieties this year to my collection since I'm finally getting a dedicated space in the house to overwinter my favorites. I just found the site and will slowly be adding what I have as I have time between chasing kiddos and playing in the dirt but would love to trade for new varieties. If anyone sees a variety I have and it's allowed to propagate I'm more than happy to send cuttings/starts anytime...not necessary to have anything to trade back as it's not like I haven't gotten some of my babies as gifts in the past. Just tickled to find more "coleus people" as the family is giving me those looks as I am starting "a few" *Blush* cuttings to have ready when I can put them outside. Blinking

I love coleus and would love to trade with anyone else who has coleus. I just have to wait til mine are big enough to have cuttings.
