Terese, you be glad to know that I finally started wintersowing. I did only 3 jugs this morning, then stopped because I was hungry! Eating lunch now, have a few other things I have to do, then I'll hopefully sow a few more jugs later.

You people are an inspiration to those of us in colder zones.
Keep up the good work!

My WS so far is one jug of Martagon Lily seed--which need a warm period before the cold
so they are still sitting in the bathroom.

I shall do a trial of begonia, geraniums and canna under lights.
Canna are supposed to be easy,--- if you scarify or nick the seeds or rub them on sand paper.

My WS will be mostly perennials and some hardy annuals. Most hardy annuals are a direct sow
unless the seed is expensive.

I still haven't gotten mine started......need to get some soil(hopefully Promix) and then get going.

I've sown Canna before inside, just rub the seed with sandpaper until you see a white spot then soak overnight. After that they grow fairly large fairly quick and bloom first year. The seedlings are pretty big so it provides a sort of instant gratification once they sprout.
