Just to make things more wierd, in IE7, I think it was yesterday, I set "text size" to "largest", briefly, in another website altogether. Then I changed back to "larger".
Soon I noticed that one particular right-edge ad, for coffee in K-Cups, was blocking my "larger" text in formums, while reading posts. Scrolling did not move the text away from the ad, I really could not read it.
Changing the text size down to (unreadably small) "medium" cured that. (I'm running both monitors at 1280x1024 at work. If relevant, my "Windows font size" is "extra large" and indeed, I squint if I don't have LARGE PRINT.)
Now for the wierdness: changing BACK from medium to "larger" popped that ad right back where it belonged, away from the forum text!
Almost as if the prior text size affected ad placement! Does IE7 have a memory for what the prefered text size "used to be"?
OK, it IS IE7, and I may have been not-logged-out from ATP when I did the "larger-largest-larger" dance. And I probably did not 'refresh' at any point.
But the usefull point is that, if you see ads where you don;t want them, try using a smaller text size BRIEFLY. See if that does anything. Or "refresh"
P.S. I appreciate that ads permit Dave to run this site! And the gardening related ads are even interesting sometimes. On this site at least, 'hurray for ads'.
But I'm going to try to figure out what website made me a target for unceasing K-Cup coffee ads everywhere I go! The only place they haven't invaded yet are my dreams.
