Sorry Jan, I was referring to the iris version of the SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and just replaced the 'A' (for 'Animal') with an 'I' (for 'Iris') to express my concern for any iris travelling alone.

Lilli, too funny! I don't think i have ever heard of an iris traveling alone.

I have never ordered from Breezeway. I am guessing that if you are reordering that they send good size rhizomes?? Reviews please.

They are a good place to do business...in my opinion. Don't expect, "huge, west coast sized" rhizomes, but they are "ample" in size, healthy, and do well for me. You will get "more than your money's worth".

George runs a good business....and has a good selection of varieties.....but doesn't grow "tons" of each variety. We usually try to visit their garden, each spring, for a "tour". There are several that I would like to get (either as replacements, or, just because I "need" to have them ), but I'm trying to cut back on adding too many, this year.

Breezeway has one of the better sites for shopping, in my opinion. They make it all too easy to add things to your cart!

Breezeway always send mature blooming size rhizomes. They may not be as big as a potato but they are healthy, mature and ready to be planted and bloom the next spring. I have always had great luck with his rhizomes.

I am going to try a couple of their reblooming ones. If I was going to make a few crosses I would be interested in cold hardy rebloomers. I have a few Spoons and others already.

You will love the little ones as they usher in the spring iris season. They hold the promise of what we wait and look forward to every year. When they start to bloom it is like smiles in your garden.

I sent a email to Mr. Bacon after he confirmed my order. He said he was always surprised from his internet sales, because he doesn't spend a lot on advertising. I then sent back that I had read about his business on this forum and that good reviews are always a plus.
