I have this row of Beauty Of Apeldoorn tulips growing in the front yard. Not a single bud on any of them, not one! These are tulips I planted not this past fall but the year before so the tulips returned. Well, sort of. Just not what I had in mind with no blooms. I am just going to leave them and see what happens next spring. (daylilies growing behind the tulip bulbs).
In a previous garden I had a completely different display of tulips on a yearly basis. I kept adding different tulips and left the old ones there. They would take a year or two off to regain their strength and then bloom again so I never knew what I'd have till they opened. I know that not everybody would like the varying display but not knowing what would bloom that year added a certain mystery to the garden.
Ha, ha, that's funny! That's the first place that came up when I did a google search for them! Good supplier, then? I've heard some horror stories about suppliers of bulbs, so it's good to have a recommendation.
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.
I have bought bulbs from Brent and Beckoes for three years now. The are wonderful and a great place to buy. This is the first year I have had the UNCLE TOM tulips however.
