In your opinion which tall bearded iris(s) is/are the closest to a true blue. It is okay if it is pastel/powder blue.

Preferably will bloom approximately the same time as "Dusky Challenger"

Dodger Blue is one of my favorite blues, of course some people on here won't have it in their garden cause they don't like the Dodgers, We won't say who that might be, but he lives in California and wears a pink Tu Tu.

I lost my Dodger Blue in the fence failure and never got to see it bloom. I had Blue Trill planted in that area too. It was my second Blue Trill......

I think we need an RHS color guide to decide what true blue is . The bluest blue I have seen this year is Blenheim Royal. If you want royal blue, then La Iris, 'Lake Sylvia' is definitely royal blue.

Since we are on the subject of blue, I want to find a blue iris the color of Missouri or Blue Rhythm that has a long bloom season ... kind of like my purple NoIDs. This iris should also have the look of Missouri or Blue Rhythm. And have a really long bloom season. Suggestions?

My bluest tall bearded iris is Merchant Marine.

Here is Restless Tide. I also agree that Dodger Blue is very blue. My Dodger Blue just bloomed so have not taken a picture yet.

That is absolutely shameful!

When I was growing up in southern CA, my family, mainly my mother and sister, we're avid Dodger fans. I wasn't that interested in baseball. Now that my sister's husband recently passed away, I thought that she needed some irises. (Dodger Blue and Line Drive to start.) Maybe Poppa John, too, to give some contrast. I have already ordered DB and LD.

Bonnie ~ What is worse...having the blues or losing the blues? Well, in your case, the latter! Sorry about that storm and fence! Is it repaired now? Do you have those awful storms every year?

This is a blurry bad photo of it, but Sea Power is a nice blue.

Crowned heads is a nice blue too.

Whilst we are on the topic of blues, may I ask what is the closest to blue Emma Cook pattern iris that people would recommend? Is Brilliant Idea one of the best blues?
