It would seem the reddish cast would push this over to a Red Bartlett. Do you have this as a tree, or is this a single fruit photo? More info on the Red Bartlett can be found at: http://usapears.org/red-bartle... I was recently researching regular Bartletts and ran across this photo in the database.

Oh thanks Deb. This was a single fruit photo. I got the fruit from the store & it didn't ID the particular kind of pear.

It's a beautiful color, and I did a bit of research and now know a bit more about the red v. yellow Bartlett. The red was actually developed here in my back yard (well, not literally, but in the State of Washington) as a sport of a yellow Bartlett. Always something to learn.

P.S. Love your Sharon quote - I sure miss that gracious lady.

I recall that it was a very tasty pear and the color certainly added to the enjoyment.

I miss her too. She truly was a gracious lady. I think of her often, and remember the quote, especially when I see people displaying hatred of others.

Well, there sure has been enough hatred spewing around lately (not here). I remain hopeful we can rekindle civility and common sense. Tough times.
