Here is a picture of my Peppermint Peach Tree starting to go gang-busters. I love the blooms on this tree. No two are alike!

There is also an incredible picture of this tree at this link. Love the way different branches carry different color traits!! I am noticing this trait on my tree too. Very curious as to what makes some branches go all red, some white striped red, and some pink. This happens on new branches as well as old. By the way, this is an ornamental tree, to my knowledge it gets no fruit, although I did see one post where the guy said his gets fruit, but it is not edible.

Beautiful Tree, sounds a little picky or is it? Long lasting flowers is one thing I really like! I found more information but I don't know my heat zone. Blinking

I know this sounds crazy, but my ornamental peppermint peach tree produced a small sweet fruit this year! Any thoughts or comments on how this happened, or if it is even possible......... mind blown!

Even though ornamental flowering trees are bred for their showy flowers, they still come from fruit trees originally. So it's always possible you'll get fruit. My mother had those dark purple-leafed flowering plums at her place and every few years for no predictable reason she would have little plums on it. Right across the driveway she had huge flowering cherries with the big pink pompom flowers and they never ever made fruit.

Might depend on the weather, wind direction when the flowers are blooming if there is another tree to pollinate it or lots of other factors. I wouldn't set my heart on getting a crop of nice little peaches very often, though.
