I just placed an order with Johnny's Select Seeds and found a coupon code online for Free Shipping on a website called retailmenot.com, applied it and it worked. Hurray! Saved myself $10.00. Standard shipping.

Anyone else find any good "Free Shipping" deals?

I love Johnnies catalog! I'm learning how to grow vegetables from that (and from Territorial).

>> retailmenot.com

I don;t know if it was them, or some other site I hit while shopping, but suddenly, EVERYwhere i went online, I was bombarded by ads for what I checked out at retailmenot.com.

So I;m not going back there. I found other sites that always give as good a deal as the temporary coupons I found for that one item.

One thing I've learned on any site that offers coupons, is not to sign up. What I saw from retailmenot.com was I just did a google search on the name of the retailer (ie Johnny's)followed by the word coupon. When I clicked on the link for retailmenot.com, the coupon and the code appeared. I just wrote down the code and applied it.

Can they track IP addresses? Shrug! I don't know if they do or not on any of the sites. Have you set your Google Web History to "pause" if your using google?

Johnny's is one of my favoriite sites to browse but not always buy Sad

My company's IT department makes it hard to use any browser other than IE, so I'm using that.

My worst fear is that just plain old browsing around is 'tracked' by enough sites that sell each other info, that just researching a particular kind of product is enough to enough to put one's identity "on a list".

I think that the worst, most paranoid Big Brother fantasies have become everyday reality for people using the Internet, but so far those are mostly used to generate advertising, not arrest warrants or "re-education orders"!

If we're patient, the government will probably, eventually, catch up to Google.

What surprises me is that it used to be the Republicans who talked about how terrible that kind of invasion of privacy was, and now the demcrats seem more afraid of it. Maybe that just flips back and forth every 30-50 years?

But I think this is both thread drift AND politics, so I'll stop grumping and grousing. None of it is ATP's fault, Dave does a great job focusing the ads we see on garden products.

Hmmm, I've used retailmenot a couple of times and never had any problems. I think that's about the only worthwhile coupon site, tho.
Confidence is that feeling you have right before you do something really stupid.
