I carry a smallish bucket for hand tools and am slowly getting rid of extras I find here and there. In my bucket is a soil knife, two sizes of snips, a hand rake, Korean hand plow, grass clippers, large screwdriver. I load the bucket into a lightweight lawn cart, along with a kitchen mat for cushioning while on my knees. For larger tools, I use a short square head spade, a child size shovel, a hard rake, and a soft rake. I've tried various hoes but don't find them helpful. My latest craze is battery powered tools - I so far have a baby lawnmower, leaf blower, weedwacker, and hedger. All are very light weight, quiet, and hold a charge for an hour or longer. At that point, it's time for me to switch tasks anyway, so makes for a good transition.
