You guys and gals are funny! I've never had a warty one, but I love all the other odd ones.

I love 'Rita Jane' so much that when her older rosettes go warty, I still love her.
But I understand we all see things differently, and that is okay.

Actually I don't mind Rita Jane. The raised area is more of a uniform ridge, not all that detracting. The ones on mine have almost disappeared for the season. It can be indicative to know whether one receives the correct Rita Jane in an order.

I remember when I planted one on the big table garden and sometime later the ridges were being discussed here. Of course I headed out to look and sure enough it was the real Rita Jane!

Will the real 'Rita Jane' please stand up, or out.

I can't grow the lumpy, bumpy, ridgey, warty echeverias outside here so I'm kinda thrilled with this one. Not the same or even similar, and yet still cool, at least to me. Not that I would want them all to do that...it's just fun to have a little bit of amazing weirdness here and there; life delivers

Dirt I love your warty Rita Jane. I think the bumps are the best thing about her. I have several lumpy ones . One is blooming right now and I an going to try for warty with some COLOR because warts and size are her best features. Crossing with dark reds. We will see. Her babies have warts too and I will be saving those for sure as the bumps are still there. Some of the others that had bumps have lost them now.
