I have been enjoying my few Dutch Iris. They bloom very eary, a treat on these gray days They are just finishing the blooming cycle and i was interested in buying a few different kinds. Would love some info as well. I'm sure they have an name and will look in the data base. These just came from a big box store.
Looks like they are Reticulated Iris

Good souces to order?
Thanks

John Scheepers is always pretty reliable for those little irises, in my opinion.

Or it's sister company Van Engelen if you are buying larger quantities.

Brent and Becky is good. McClure and Zimmerman does not have very good ratings.

Happy shopping!

Touble with sheepers is that they have a $35 minimum order. 2 stems of Katharine Hodgkin iris are open, one more than last yr & earlier. I would think that the warmer temps caused it to be so early.

I find it hard not to spend 35.00 nowadays.

Where do you get yours, Lucy?

I did get it from sheepers as I had other things to order. I kept trying to get up to the $35 but everything fell short so didn't order more. We already have daffs in front of our stone wall along the street & don't have room for many more bulbs. I avoid tulips because of the deer.

Awww, in the snow. I think Katharine is definitely one of the prettier ones. I can recall when it was very expensive per bulb.

Expense is probably because it is a species cross & grows more slowly than some reticulatas. I have not been outside to look at it as yet today as we had about 2" of snow.

Last year was my first to see blooms on the 3 varieties I planted the fall before.
I preferr the lighter colored ones because I can see them from the house. The darks like Pixie and George ar not seen against the ground and mulch.
I planted Natasha last fall but no sighn of it yet.
