I still don't know how I got so lucky snagging this beautiful large Aloe. It lived quite happily in a pot for about a year, and then, when I put my succulent area in, it got a nice spot.
Note the diameter of this Aloe is almost 2 feet.

As you can see from the inflorescence emerging it is a happy plant. This will bloom in the next week!

A friend has started some cactus seeds but he says they come up and then peter out.... so we're not being terribly successful!

I was looking mostly at the Aloe seeds - some varieties that aren't necessarily readily available. Maybe when I'm bored next winter (yeah, right!)....
