Hi!(: So I just received this ant Plant and I was wondering about it's care! It arrived in sphagnum. Should I keep it in it? How often should I water? How much light? Thank you!!!

What a lovely plant Lindsey! I was tempted to buy that one too a few weeks back, but reading it will provide haven for the ants, made me think twice Big Grin

I would think you will have to grow that like an orchid that loves moisture, got to give it good humidity levels. That was my apprehension too, how to give it good humidity levels. I do love how it forms that caudex, I always love caudex forming plants. Lovey dubby

Here is another link about your plant: it did say grow it like an orchid in a very high humidity environment

Live and learn! I knew about certain plants (like peonies) that attracted ants to keep other pests under control but had never known about plants with internal housing for ants. Wow, that is interesting but it begs the question, what are you going to do with this plant during the cold months? Is it one of the antless ant plants or will it be full of ants when it needs winter protection?

Interesting plant, indeed! I wonder if the plant needs to have ants to survive?
