About 30 years ago the elderly lady next door passed on and when I was there with her nephew, I brought home a pot of this succulent. It reseeds and having left it alone in one spot for a long time now, I've decided that I like it as a groundcover....but I've never bothered to find out what it is. I'm sure it's common and everyone else probably knows what it is....lol...TIA.

It looks like a type of Kalanchoe.

It looks like a very mature Sedum sieboldii but it does not have a purple edging like what I see in mine. They do have similar flowers.

It's a sweet little plant, reseeded nicely. I have to check and see if it survived the winter here in my new place. I originally got it as cuttings from Happenstance on DG, do you remember her? Awesome images of her great plants, I got to tour her garden one day and came home with lots of cuttings of her plants. Thumbs up

I sure remember Happenstance. If I recall rightly, she was in that first batch of initial people who I awarded the Uber Gardener status to.

Oh,and I love the name...'Fairy' crassula. It reseeds voraciously here, which I found annoying until it filled in as a groundcover in one area, now I'll make more use of it. I remember the name happenstance...unforgettable, no?....but didn't remember that she was in California. LOL...I'm going to quit pulling it out as a weed now and start transplanting instead. I will be getting a lot more familiar with succulents...our water rates have gone up 75% in the last 6 years and now they'll be going up another 11% next month, followed by a similar raise the following year....sigh.

Well, hetty...I can't believe you don't already have it....lol..

I keep saying how busy I am, but do you think it should really take me 30 years to find out what it is? When it comes up from seed, it's not impressive, just individual little stalks, but once I stopped and took a good look at how nice it is when allowed to fill in, now I'm impressed. Now I'll fill pots with it also.

Did we lose happenstance in transition? I see that she was signed up with cubits, but didn't make it over here. We lost some good people along the way...kachinagirl, mudpies, ecrane3 (liz)..that's too bad.

Once she moved into her new property, she posted a few more photos in 2009 on DG but never came back or replied to threads pertaining to her photos. I wasn't aware that she joined Cubits. Miss her`threads and input.

We on the Florida forum lost KatG who was SO active also in posting recipes, her fabulous containers etc. I miss her! Messages, both via mail and phone, have been unanswered.... Sad

That is sad. I thought she was still around.....some are having a hard time in life right now and are focused on other things. Some have other interests they move on to....and some of us will be around until we can no longer type. ....lol..
