Well we really need better pics of Dave's and Tracey's award winning lilies. Not sure the color is quite right here for Dave's Trogon, but it shows the almost PERFECT form of the stem:


And come on, you guys! Dave didn't just take home the top award (the Isabella Preston Trophy for Best Lilyin the show), he took home more top awards for that lily !!!
--- Fred Tarlton award for the 1st place stem with highest bud count
--- Iowa Regional Lily Society award for best asiatic hybrid
--- David Mooney and Henry Payne award for Best stem of a named lily of New England orgin

And Tracey won the Peter Mooney award for best Oriental lily


AND Dave had ANOTHER lily on the head table:
His Gayle's Favorite won the Best stem of a hybrid lily originated and named by a Canadian

No problem Connie. The only downfall to this site is the uploading of pictures takes a while. Especially when you have a lot to post.

I totally understand, Dave. I'm still sitting on a pile of photos of my blooming seedlings, trying to work them in as I can. But since they are blooming, that means I am real busy pollinating. I'll work in posting photos as I can get time to get to them.

I don't think I got around to posting all of them last year but that is ok. This year the same lilies are more mature and look much better than last year.

The gardens on the NALS Tour were amazing. From the perfect use of a small space to create a backyard paradise to acres of gardens to create a vast secluded paradise. It was very nice of them to open their gems to a group the size of ours. Dave, you got some nice pictures. I took a few, mainly of flowers, as it was tough to capture what my own eyes did that afternoon. So I pretty much quit trying.

Nice to meet you Lefty, after all these years too. You and the NorthStar group are some really great folks.

Thanks, Ginny. The room full of lily stems was a nice pull to stop in. I just noticed you location, are you pretty close to Des Moines, Iowa ?

An hour away and I wanted to go but I had a local garden tour at my house last weekend. I was so bummed.
