I was cleaning out my storage shed yesterday and found this "stored" there. I think it was a doll cradle at one time that I recycled to a magazine holder. But now I've decide to make it into a planter.
I drilled some holes for drainage
Since I don't want it to get too heavy, I put about 2" of Styrofoam peanuts (instead of rock) in the bottom for some extra drainage. I think it will help to help keep the wood from staying too wet. Also I don't want it 7" deep with soil.
Next I lined it some landscape fabric inside.
Now I just need to decide what to plant in it, and fill it with about 5" of the appropriate soil and voila!
Any suggestions on what would look good?
Keep in mind I am in Central Florida.
