Thread OP

Hello, I was wondering if you know what the brown spots on your Crassula Mesembryanthemoides are? Mine are growing those spots too and I'm wondering if I should be concerned. Thanks!

Hi & welcome! I am sorry for the delayed reply, I did not notice your question before and just happened to be scrolling through this forum this morning. Unfortunately, although I am now aware of the question, I can't answer it. I'm inclined to say yes the spots were a problem because the plant lived for such a short time, weeks. But that is the fate of most of the little succulents that I buy that originate from that grower (Altman / cactuscollection .com) because of the awful fibrous peat in which the roots of their plants are always trapped. If I don't manage to propagate the plant immediately after buying, it's doomed because the roots never survive in that horrible fibrous peat in my soupy, swampy environment, whether I leave them in their tiny pots or attempt a repot.

I've just bought a new pot of it to try again. Wish me luck! ;)

If you start a discussion about your plant in cactus/succulent forum, hopefully someone with more familiarity with that plant would have some helpful feedback. Adding a pic always helps to solicit the most relevant feedback. Best luck to you & your plant!
