They sure look fat and healthy. Blinking Must be all those plants they are eating.
That's the nice part about the sedum that go dormant, by the time they are coming out of dormancy the deer have lots of their normal forage to eat.

Oh boy, that's a deer problem. I have a bit of a deer problem:

but not as bad as you.

Are they a problem year round or just the winter?

Lynn I think the one under my window is a pregnant doe, they were mostly does from what I could see.

Once the does have their babies in June we won't see them around until fall, but then we will see some of the bucks, so it is a year round problem but not quite as bad during the summer.

Yeah, that was my yard. My daughter got the video. It was probably after my roses.

Crying Not the roses. Do you lose much to them Tabby?

Margaret, we have few problems here with deer. Our winters are so mild and there is so much year round for them to eat.

That was a cute video Tabby, handsome deer.

My neighbor across the street has tulips in the front so I'm sure they were eating any leaves that had emerged. They seem to know just when the buds are about to open too, then they come around and eat the blooms. Glare

Hi Margaret! Love that natural slope line you have..gorgeous rock garden potential Smiling

I wonder if Sedum dendroideum would grow there, it certainly survives our wet and cold winter here, but not sure of snow though. It is an upright growing sedum, and could become bushy type too. Mine is growing in a container and grows happily. It would certainly be happier in ground. Then you can put the ground cover sedums around it.

Hi Tarev, I think the slope does have great potential if I can find the right plants.

Our area is actually quite dry as a rule, it gets very cold with minus temperatures in November, then we get snow and it usually stays until late March, so it would be the cold that would do them in, they have to be tough to live here! Hilarious!

Thank you for your input. I tip my hat to you.

Lynn, it may take me awhile to get it planted, it is a large area, and when it comes to the gardening I'm on my own, DH cuts the grass and that it. Glare

I am also on my own when it comes to gardening Big Grin My hubby just likes to assist in putting holes in pots and the occasional lifting of pots and bags of soil..but after that I am on my own. Maybe that is why I prefer cacti/succulents and other drought tolerant plants I can get away with it if I forget to water them Hilarious!

Same here. My DH will dig the big holes and do some of the heavy pruning and lifting of heavy things. He also sharpens and repairs the tools of gardening. The actual gardening and mowing is up to me.

My DH will also help dig big holes, lift the heavy things, he takes away the branches and garden debris so that is a big help. But I dare not turn him loose to prune, edge or weed whack, he scalps everything!!! Angry

Last year when I had to go for an emergency trip around summer time, my hubby did try his best to mind my plants..I even compelled him to take photos and upload just to make sure my plants are okay Big Grin What I discovered later is that he repotted one of my plants and chose not to inform me that it died..haaay..oh well, win some lose some..I just felt bad coz that plant, a protea was actively with leaves, though still flowers eluding me..in his hands it was a death sentence Hilarious!

Ah but I did manage to revive one Spathiphyllum he left outdoors at 100F heat, and I guess my return was just good timing to pursue active watering as well in time Big Grin On the good side, he just had to repot my cymbidiums and this december I got lovely blooms..at least on that one things went well Big Grin
