I have seeds sprouted for this plant, and I'm excited to grow it!
Duane, I see that your plant is in your gardens; do you irrigate? I have the impression that this plant likes to be on the dry side; can you advise?

Hi Chelle,
I water it sparingly in the summer, if at all. I never water it in any other time. Of course our summers are very different than yours. It gets warm but seldom hot for very long. It probably needs more water the first year (that's what I did.), but once it gets established it don't need that much. It's located in full sun. The plant itself is only about 6-8 inches tall and the flowers are 12-16 inches. The flowers are very unusual. I believe mine didn't flower the first year or not very much.

Thank you so much!

I'll give it a spot in full sun and away from the thirsty roses.

Any extras will go in the wildflower meadow where I'm sure they'll be fine. Smiling

I lost my in-garden seedlings during a wet spell that summer, but I have a fall planted transplant from last year that seems to be doing well so far. This one is in the rock garden, so it will probably have a better chance of survival.
