I was going to trim back some of my Stefco sedum and I found this one stem that was fasciated. Looks pretty bizarre. It almost looks like it's made out of bone. I'm wondering if our weird winter weather played a part in all the strange things I'm finding with my plants this spring.
The longer you grow them, the more oddities you will come across.
How cool is that.
You are coming up with such fun things this year Chris. It looks like a weird miniature tree. Now that two weird miniature trees you have.
If any of you can find them again, be sure to post some pictures.
I thought about moving that one out of that pot into another one so I can keep an eye on it, but I'm afraid if I disturb it, it might not make it. Have to think about that.....
It will be interesting to see what the life span will be on it. I was reading a little on cristate forms of sedum, S. reflexum is one that is prone to doing that. It said to remove any normal offshoots that may start up.
Then I think I will move it into a different pot. I was looking closer at my first picture, and there is also another one on the right side of the picture. It's much smaller though.
