oh believe me its not with unlimited expenses. Ed can can and has put the kabosh on my plant buying......... One bed stayed empty but for weeds till he said can't you do something with that bed? Said sure give me the checkbook and it'll be done tomorrow. I have my ways..................... Actually I like to buy the bigger sightly more expensive plants. I can usually divide one into 3 or 4 easily enough. Then when he sees the amount he says what did you get? 4 of that one 3 of that 4 or5 of this It looks better.

Well, I do both - I go for teeny plants, such as plugs, if I know it's a fast grower. Or, if I feel I can divide, I'll get a big pot. However, I killed a dicentra this year doing that, which was weird. Not that I don't kill plants, but it's usually not by dividing! Dicentra must not like to be divided - ?? Confused Well, whatever. The first piece died and now the 2nd piece is on it's last legs. Er . . . roots!

Yeah some of them don't like to be divided and some well, they are just not in a "happy" place, But we're gardeners and have learned to live with a death of a plant.

My gardens all look so sad right now. The heat of June and July now we are in 70's, they just don;t know what is expected of them.

But, it's a great time to plant! Most of the stock out there is discounted - I just got two good-sized (#5 pot I think) Caryopteris 'Sunshine Blue' shrubs for $12 each! And they haven't event bloomed yet - but, they have buds! Hurray!

I have one of those by the pond. The flowers with the variegated leaves are truly awesome. Good job, on the good find. I haven't even been out to see any f the sales around here, Maybe I should get on the stick and get out there and see what bargains I can find.

Well I need to do something to get my mind off our trip in January. So plant shopping it will be. Have ordered bulbs already, But I think I need a diversion. Already I have a list of things to see in New Orleans that would take 3 WEEKS snd we're only going for the weekend.

It kinda got real bad this year. Excess heat, humidity, watering ban. I'm hopeful; that they all survived Mother Natures trick on us this year and next year will be back to normal. If not, back to the drawing board.
