Thank you! This was the common house gecko (Hemidactylus frenatus) when I lived in the Marshall Islands. I understand they also live in the deep south here in the US. We're too dry in NM to have them. I loved having them as house guests because they ate every insect they found in the house. They would chirp at us when they saw us. These little guys were very cute! Here is the original photo.

Thanks Karen for the shot of your special garden friend. Reminds me of my elusive Blue-tailed Skink (or Salamander).

I just about had a picture of one with a very long tail, when I was interrupted by the doorbell. I wasn't too happy with that Salesman!!!

Aw, I love skinks too! We did have 2 that lived with us in the islands but I never got their photo. Most of the time we were there we had the old fashioned cameras using film. We sure didn't get photos like we do them today.

Very cool, Rob! I didn't think AZ had any geckos. I just checked and found this:
"Arizona is home to two species of geckos: the Mediterranean gecko (Hemidactylus turcicus) and the western banded gecko (Coleonyx variegatus). Several recognized subspecies of western banded geckos occur in Arizona."

We have some of their relatives here, hanging out amongst my garden. Some, so small you can fit them length wise in a small matchbox and still have a smidge more room between the tail and edge of the box.
