A Tale of Two Boxes

Ok, so that is the opening to Charles Dickens "A Tale of Two Cities". This is a tale of two boxes. One that I just got a week ago and one I got in FEBRUARY!

So this thread is about two boxes I got from Superstition Iris Gardens. The first delivered in late February and the second on August 4th. One ordered and one a surprise.

First the surprise box.

I got an email from FEDEX as to tracking on a box from Superstition Iris Gardens around the 20th of February. This was strange. I did not recall ordering anything (well - I did have an order pending; but the ship date was for late July or early August) and the "Winter season" is a strange time for sending plants. I was SO crazed with anticipation.

It did not help that I got no other communication from Rick or Roger about this. That made me even more anxious about the box.

So the box arrives. I usually arrive home first so I can "hide" my acquisitions from my family (this is not a good thing; I get that ); but this day I was the last.

"What did you get?" This was asked before I opened the box.

"I don't know!" I said.

"Bullsh**" was the response.

"No, really; I don't know. I didn't order anything"

"Well then, open it"

Hmmmm..... this will be interesting

I opened the box. No bare root plants. No potted plants. No plants.

Catalogs

Some back ground.

Somewhere around that time we were having discussions about our iris vendor catalog collections and I "crowed" about my personal "Superstition Iris Gardens" catalog collection; which stood at four and is the thread picture.

Roger Duncan decided that my collection needed a boost. So he threw a bunch of catalogs from years past and sent them to me.

WOW. What a great gift. So I pulled them all out and cataloged the catalogs...........

I keep my catalogs too, Greg, and understand your joy when you opened the box. Superstition is a great caring company...... great irises too.
