You'd also have to be careful that they were well washed, and not full of salt.

I posted the same question in the Facebook group. I will try it with some local varieties. We have plumerias growing 9-14FT near the ocean so I would think they get a fair amount of salt. I don't want to take over this post and will start my own discussion. My apologies.
