I read that he is indeed one of the blue ones but the male hormones change their color and turns there head red in the spring. Interesting. Crazy little skinks.

What is that? At first I thought it was a turtle's shell, but I didn't think it looked like turtle feet. What's wrong with its body? Looks like a hole or something has eaten some of it.

Pippi, It is a skink. We have lots of them.

An adult....the ones with the blue tails are the juvies....at least that is what my National Audubon Society field guide says
