Also spotted on a street corner by an abandoned lot in northeast Florida. I thought it might be Chicory (Chicorium intybus), but when I looked at photos of Chicory, the flowers didn't seem quite right. The plant was shallow rooted without much root structure (I know that because I just had to dig a few up to bring home to try to grow in my garden. Beautiful blue flower - couldn't resist the urge to propagate. LOL)

Hi Jeremy, good to see you.

Your plant looks a bit like a Cosmos. Do you happen to have a pic of the foliage?

are those seed pods from the flower pictured? they don't look like cosmos pods to me, but the flower could be. Cosmos (for me anyway) make "heads" rather then pods. Pretty whatever

Hey Jeremy, great to see you.

Here's chicory in our database: Chicory (Cichorium intybus)
The stems of mine don't seem to be as upright as on your image, but there is similarity in the petals.

Hi, Gang! (Some of my favorites here, for sure!) I do have some more photos of the leaves and flowers, but not readily available. We are using the public library computers to save on the budget instead of having home Internet. I will post the additional photos in a few days.

Thanks!

Jeremy
