There are so many different types of Rudbeckias and they are so beautiful. What kind do you have?

Black-Eyed Susan, Orange Coneflower 'Goldsturm'
Rudbeckia fulgida

I have one big stand of Goldsturm. I keep digging them out and giving away, they just keep spreading
Thumb of 2012-04-05/kqcrna/609880

I also grow hirtas. I keep trying to maintain the green-eyed ones, my favorites. But they cross pollinate so readily, oddballs do turn up from my saved seeds.

I've also grown the dwarf Becky, but not in a few years

The first Becky I grew was from commercial seeds, big yellow flowers on dwarf plant, yellow with brown eye
Thumb of 2012-04-05/kqcrna/01b6de

In subsequent years, the harvested seeds produced dwarf plants of every color combination

Those are from Thomson and Morgan and are called Rudbeckia x hirta 'Cherokee Sunset'. They have them under annual, but they behave more like short lived perennials, with some plants living 3 or 4 years. They reseed freely and the variations in those seedlings are great.
