And although this is spray paint; you don't ALWAYS have to use it as spray.You can spray some into say a disposable foil pie tin & then dip your brush into it. But only spray a small amount at a time as it will begin to dry up quickly.

The art work/painting of your water barrell is beautiful! Wished you lived near me, I'd hire you to paint my old rural, metal mailbox that I want to take and use for small garden tools storage to save me from walking back and forth to garage all the time. You obviously are very talented! Thanks for sharing your picture.

Interesting. How did you get the paint to stick?
I've painted several of those blue plastic barrels and found I had to sand the surface somewhat to rough it up, then I used primer specifically for plastic and then house paint. A year later the paint peeled off any area that hadn't gotten sanded.

I use them for rain barrels.

Becky must still be playing Easter Bunny. I'm sure she'll be around soon.

Tabby, I think the problem was when you used house paint.

I've got another unpainted blue barrel to play with. Now, if I can find the brush on Krylon Fusion paints, I can have some fun.

Becky needs a Gulfstream to take care of all these jobs.

Ann, their website says they do. I'm hoping to find them locally. I can find the spray paint version but not the brush on. I wanna paint pretty flowers and vines on my barrels.

Oh wait, I just looked as saw that Boopaints did the painting. I'll ask her and see if I have the same stores around here. Or better yet, I'll ask in the garden art forum.

Use Krylon for Plastic to paint your barrels. Then your exterior patio paint or acrylics will stick. I did a adirondack chair set this way and it worked like a charm.

I saw this on facebook this morning. So pretty! I wish we had enough rain to warrant a rain barrel in Phoenix. I would love to paint them as a side job!
