I never did get a catalog from Curt. Confused A friend was up to his place, and brought me one today !! Yeah!!!

And, I have word that his website is updated for the new year! Here is the link. http://www.crintonic.com/index... The website has been going down now and then - he has a new person doing it and I think they are just getting the kinks worked out. So, if you can't access it for some reason, try again a little later on. I know they are working on it!

I sure do love the pleated flowers. Love the one on the cover. I believe the cover is the backside of the petal. You can see where the sepal was broken off. It is so hard to explain one of these "tulip" blooming daylilies without actually seeing one in your own hands, and tearing one apart to understand how it is formed. The back cover of the catalog features a daylily called "Behind the Scenes" - I am sure named for the cool stuff that happens when the petals roll all the way back, showing on the underside. Also he is finally bringing out the Bela Lugosi x Tet Altissima seedling I have seen him working with for a few years. It is called Chew Mail Pouch Tobacco. Curt returned a week or so ago from a month in South Africa. I can't even begin to imagine a trip like that. So, if you tried to reach him and did not get him a while back, he is home now.

Wow! I love his names too! And of course I'm drawn to ROOT CANAL and TROPICAL FRUIT FIGHT -- and his name VAN GOGH'S EAR! What a crackup! Rolling on the floor laughing

Glad to see it working tonight. I have been trying to get there for a few days.

Always exciting stuff.

Getting rather pricey though with several at $200. Yikes!

Can't wait to hear about S. Africa travels.

What a great assortment of daylilies again this year from Curt! I've always been drawn to the pleated ones and it's so exiting to see them going in so many new directions now. From the more round forms like Lust Without You, the more UFy, Nowhere To Run ( which I have seen and the color is way better in person), to the so cool tulipy shapes like Van Gogh's Ear, which I have to have. Anyway, I can't hardly imagine where all this can go, or how many people will get hooked on hybridizing with some of this cool stuff, now that Sculpted forms are registerable !

He has some of the most unusual and stunning Hems. I just drool over them. Have many of you purchased any and which ones??

I have a huge amount of Curt's daylilies. They now are older. He has been known as the king of the purples. Doesn't like midribs, doesn't really like the fancy edges. Likes 'selfs' in good exotic colors. So do I, therefore, my collection!

Many are SE. You live in Mt. Some of those purchased were too tender for my unusual climate on the ocean north of Boston so I hate to recommend.

However, HE WILL HELP if you call him. He loves to talk plants. Call after dinner. He works in his gardens as long as there is light out there!

Thanks for the info. I think I will pass for now as money is tight right now and I would probably buy the farm if I talk to him.

I love his unique Daylilies, but I hate his" tacky" names. Especially the "Panty Series". I wonder why he does that? Confused It's really kind of offensive. I would not want to tell anyone the real names of the flowers after I bought them.

I enjoy his names. They can be playful, often times tongue in cheek, sometimes thought provoking. Certainly unique ! One of my favorite names is Self Imposed Paradise. That's what a beautiful garden can be.
