I'm new to hostas and last year bought 4 (Whirlwind, Sagae, August Lily and Blue Cadet)which I kept in pots all winter(sunk the pots in the ground) and last month transplanted them to their new garden spot.
I have a question on Blue Cadet. I noticed the "pips" are emerging as a very dark color, perhaps you'd call it purplish/blueish. Is this typical?
The Sagae came up but the pips are not that color so wondering if this is suppose to happen?

Thanks Paul. I was a bit worried but glad to know it is normal.
