Lindsey, keep in touch and I'll tell you just where to go. Here is a look in one of the greenhouses. $10 a pop for the vandas with 4 feet of root. Blooming dens for $4; phals for $5, and catts for $6. They also have cyms.

Thanks, Bree. The large yellow Paph is Magic Mood X Alex Szabo.
Ursula, Thanks. Except for a few Phals and A Den, these Paphs are all that are in bloom at the moment. I am happy to watch the Catts, et al put on new growth, though. It's fun to watch, isn't it?

Now I remember where I've heard of the Royal Orchid club! Thanks for the reminder.

That is one impressvie room of Paphs!! The Cymbidium Aussie is so striking too. I think I have a spike on one of my cymbidums.

The 2 really big paphs that came from Denise Denise in NJ (nia22d on eBay)I paid $33 and $35 for. I could have probably gotten them for half that price if I would have been willing to bid on them and take my chances, but I bought them as Buy It Nows. Most of the really large spiking or budded orchids I've gotten from her and others on eBay have been between $10 and $25. Keep in mind that I live in Lincoln, NE. Other than a few at the big box stores during Mother's Day, only the most expensive places sell orchids here and I'd have paid more than that for budded paphs if I could have found them at all. I think I need to move to Apopka!! I'd think I was in heaven in a greenhouse like that.

Id have bought them 2. I can't find any decent sized paphs here in Australia. Most sellers sell single growth small seedlings and there harder to keep alive i think. I don't have as much luck with seedlings , i 'd rather multi growth paphs.

Bree, nice Cymbidium!

Around here the Cattleya Penny Kuroda 'Spots' AM/AOS is now fully open. This is now a fairly tall plant and I am glad it has survived the wet outdoor season last year. Some of the growth really didn't look good at all last Fall.

Susan,
Piping Rock is a really good vendor for Slipper Orchids. I usually buy from them at Shows and his prizes are quite reasonable..

And I will keep my fingers crossed. The standard response would normally be "more light"?

Here is one last spike of my Coelogyne Burfordiense, or rather a division of it. I couldn't wait splitting the plant until all spikes were done, since some of the new growth started to show roots.

This picture doesn't do it justice. This is my so called Encyclia tampensis 'Chocolate'. The pot does contain indeed tampensis, but the tampensis smells more like sweet honey. However the other Encyclias in this group smell strongly of Chocolate and are perhaps plicata. (Orchidspecies.com lists Encyclia phoenicea which also smells of Chocolate)
In any case I really like the mix and I love the strong wonderful scent which fills the cage.
The blooms last a long time!
