A few years ago I started collecting epis, sadly they all for scale bugs that I couldn't get rid of so I threw them away. I still had my hookeri and oxypetalum but I wanted day blooming species. I got some cuttings from a nice lady so I have a few day blooming species now. I really like epiphyllums and I'm happy to start to be collection again. Thumbs up

Systemic insecticides work on hard scale that can't be washed or scraped off or brushed off with a toothbrush. Bayer 3 in 1 Rose and flower works. I don't like to use chemicals, but when they threaten my garden, it's on. Best wishes on your new collection. I started with cuttings three years ago and am just now getting blooms.

Thanks Suzi44. I didn't think of Bayer 3 in 1. I use that on my other houseplants when I bring them indoors in winter. I used the last of the Bonide for houseplants. I hate using chemicals too but with my house plants, I sometimes have to resort to them.
