Thread OP

Hi new to this site. My wife's grandfather grew TB Dawn Glory and won prizes with his iris. He grew many others but Dawn Glory was one of my wife's favorite. I'm not planning on entering into any shows I'm just trying to grow one of her favorite iris that her grandfather grew. Any help would be Grateful. He had a local artis paint some of his favorite iris and just wanted to show you some of his favorites that she painted.

Welcome MISnowman! Welcome!

It sounds like you have a cool backround. I wish I had some that I could donate to you, but I am still very new in my iris growing experiences, but I know there may be some here who would be willing to help you out further than I can. I have so little expertise. Good luck! I tip my hat to you.
TB 'Starting Fresh' blooming for me in May of 2022. It bloomed for a week and a half with nine buds.

Welcome! misnowman.

i am afraid i don't grow that one, and if it's an older variety, it maybe difficult to locate, but you never know. there is a thread on the iris forum where you might post it as well.....i can't think the thread's name at the moment. perhaps, someone else remembers? i think it may have been scott that started the thread?

Some of those who have lots of historics may be able to help. Arlyn @crowrita1 is this on any HIPS list?

First off, Welcome! ! I'm having trouble accessing the HIPS lists, right now, but Dave will probably be "dropping by", soon, and maybe he can access them. It is a Schreiner's iris (1982, I think).

You might be able to get one from Carlos, at Brighton Park....he isn't a "commercial vendor", but he has an amazing collection of irises, and, a real "Schreiner's Fan"

I finally was able to have someone check the HIPS commercial sources list....and Dawn Glory isn't on it Sad . So, your best bet would be to see if Carlos has one to spare.
