Christie-I do over-winter my maple outdoors. This was its first winter and it did well. I never covered it!

My Golden full moon maple (~5-yrs) sits on north side of house so I do cover the pot if it gets down in low 30's for more than a few days as it's a shallow pot. I don't think it usually has pink-tinged leaves this time of yr. I just changed out the soil & cut a few inches of roots so it might be upset. Shrug! The 2nd photo is a month earlier.

Daisy- I love vine maples. Does yours leaf out in those peach tones or is that an autumn photo?

Charlinex- I hope you post photos of your Dancing Peacock this fall. I've been lusting for one but have no room in my garden.

Teruko, your full moon maple is beautiful! Actually I read that full moon maple can withstand very cold temperatures. I am in Toronto, our winter can be very harsh.

The mother tree of my seedlings is a very mature tree near where I live. I have made some video clips of the full colors.

That's what it looks like right now.

Charinex - The video clips of your full moon maples are stunning! Lovey dubby My little guy has never turned red, more yellows & oranges. Your colder climate certainly gives you a wider array of colors, lucky you! Thank you for sharing.

Daisy - I don't think I've ever seen our native vine maples that color this time of year. It must be your warmer, dry climate that turns it that coppery color. Very pretty!

Its a cultivator of A. circinatum. Maybe Sunglow. I thought I got it from Forest Farms but they don't have a lot of JMs listed. Didn't they used to have a lot more?
