Firstly let me say I am in Australia. My jonquils are overcrowded and not flowering well. They are under a liquid amber. I have lifted some clumps. I have done it after flowering as the soil is still damp and it's easy to dig them up. I have left the green leaves intact. There are a few bulbs which appear to be the correct size. However there are lots of small 'daughter bulbs'. If I plant these will they grow into a healthy size eventually? There are so many small bulbs I can't imagine I will have the space to plant them all. Is there anything else I can do with these under-developed bulbs? Can I just throw some good soil over groups of them and hope for the best?
