It's looking good. Like me, you tend to tackle big projects. Taking the time and energy to do it right, you'll have far less trouble after your plants are growing, (and hopefully the weeds and unwanteds are not)! Maintenance will be easier with the straight border. I think the inset would have been something you would want to change after mowing a few times. I've got some odd little corners that are a pain, and have been threatening to change one of them for several years. I just never seem to get around to it, but am frustrated every time I mow between a big tree and the flower bed. So many projects, so little time!
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most.

That's the way to work it Mary! Hey, for that vinca minor how about using the 50/50 water, white vinegar w/ a tsp. of dish washing liquid that we saw in the tips recently?

Thanks, Mary! Thanks, Ann!

Ann, for the vinca, I'm going to bake it out. Might spray brushkiller on it first, and then cover with heavy plastic weighted down with whatever I can find to keep it in place from now until Sept/Oct. I know I should use black plastic, but I think clear plastic will work since it's an extended time-period.

We'll see....

Well, you could use the clear plastic & throw some cardboard (weighed down) on top to keep out the light.

I'm out of cardboard Sad and I feel LOST without it. Hilarious! It's a pretty shady area, so we'll see. Problem is, there's vinca all over the place *out* side the fence, so it won't take much for it to come back inside. I'll be fighting it for the rest of my life, I'm afraid. But at least it's not kudzu!
