I bought this rose 6 years ago from a nursery that carried J & P
and Weeks roses. Maybe Star too. The bush stays fairly small, but it does rebloom. Very light scent. it would have been a pretty popular floribunda, because this place kind of sticks to tried and true, and new ones that get heavy promotion.
Any ideas? I just might recognize the name if someone says it.



It's a creamy white with a very faint touch of pink when it first opens. I would call it buff white.

Might it be French Lace? It was definitely creamy white. Some scent, but not a lot. Definitely a floribunda widely promoted by J&P.

My first thought when looking at the second shot (first one is too small, can you include a larger one?) is that it could be Gruss an Aachen, it has those touches of rouge on the blooms and buds. That doesn't seem to be the case for French Lace.

Sue, Gruss an Aachen would not have been available at that nursery, so I know it can't be that one. Mine doesn't look exactly like the photos of French Lace, but I do have an old hang tag from French Lace. It's possible I pulled the tag off because I thought it was mislabeled from the nursery. But that was 5 years ago, and I've slept since then.
I really ought to start a new thread with photos of all of mine who have lost their tags. They must get raked out of the beds. They are listed on a spreadsheet deep in a computer that shut down 2 years ago...maybe it would be easier to get the computer fixed!

Yes, do start a thread of mystery roses. I do that periodically and some of them get identified.

I love mystery rose threads. I'm no good at identifying any of them, but it's fun to learn from those of you who are.

Ok...will be uploading later today. I took lots of pics yesterday because we had a TORCON index of 8 meaning tornadoes likely but we didn't even get rain. Just thunder and SLCs, which is wx jargon for "scary looking clouds"

It's a tough crowd here for mystery rose identification, but if there are enough good clues offered up we can sometimes narrow the field to six or twelve pretty good candidates. Then, all you need to do to be sure you have the right one is to plant each of those and compare. Easier than cultivating each of the 20,000 named varieties, I suppose.

Now that I believe I might actually have gotten one right, I'll play.

BTW I don't see that touch of rouge. It looks to me like the petal count might be closer to French Lace's (30-35) than it is to GAA' 40-50. Cindi, did you count the petals?

My eyes get all googly trying to count. go ahead, give it a try...the specks on it are dirt. Add 1 more petal for the one I dropped outside.

I think the count is normally performed by removing the petals...
