Syngonium is a monster vine in FL but this is what it can do where I am. This has been in this spot for about 5 yrs. It is around 3 feet tall this year. Just a little thing on a porch post but not big or strong enough to damage the post.

Other spots of surviving Syngonium. Just a poof of a few leaves in most spots. I did find a vine starting to form so I cut that off and stuck it in a pot to enjoy over winter. In the spring I'll stick that in the ground somewhere too.

Some things are starting to come up. What's going on @ your hosue?

oyster plant (Tradescantia spathacea) - good results on a first try this past winter.

Chinese evergreen (Aglaonema) - in this spot for years


Geraniums (Pelargonium) survived in 2 places that I've noticed. If that is reliable in at least the protected spots, that would be easier than finding space inside. This is a first try for this.

Yucca elephantipes/gigantea is not going to be a satisfying herbaceous perennial here. I don't want to clean up this mess every year or garden around these poky leaves on a very short plant. I might need help digging this out. I think we buried about 2 feet of trunk originally, in the fall of 2022.

Agree. Those dead leaves don't have the humility to let go & hit the ground. Marcescent dead leaves are really annoying.

Sometimes you just have to admit this is one more job in the garden I don't want to do.
