I think maybe springcolor was voicing my request as well - please name the pictures. I can guess what they are, but hostas are often difficult to identify by a picture alone as the scale is difficult to determine.

Shannon you do have some nice hosta. I have crows here that move tags around. Maybe if you list names the experts here can put them with the pictures. Shrug! The last photo I love as well.

I should have names on these. I will go look under them tonight . I know the fourth one down is Blue Mouse ears and the last one is White Feather in its spring color LOL

My problem was when I planted them the tags were on metal and the marker wore off Angry
Now I have to go back and see who they Look like LOL But, I have a sort of list to get my ideas

Shannon,

i have the same "fade" issue you do. Though i found I still have a few from 2007 or 08 that did not fade, i think i used a UV spray on the labels. Plan on re-doing some in a few days like that. I sprayed the metal tags green today... now i have to reprint the vinyl labels and spray them. and i should be back in business.

but i will have to take images this summer and have some re-ID'd.

I get those thick plastic sticks and write on them with a sharpee ( write-it-out-loud) then shove it all the way down except for one inch, if it is below the dirt it will not fade and it's difficult to pull up. (for a bird anyway) They are just looking for stuff to build their nest with. Find something to give them and maybe they will leave your good stuff alone. Green Grin!
Also (as you know *Blush* ) I take a lot of pictures and tag them.

The pictures are a VERY valuable record. I've found them especially useful in locating some hostas in the spring - particularly if I moved them around in the autumn. I've got mostly solid aluminum markers and sometimes they get pushed entirely into the earth during the winter.

That's right, I look at the back ground in the picture and I will know automatically. I agree
