I actually got it in the mail. I don't have the patience to grow things I really want from seed. Hilarious!

I would guess it's about 2 or 3 years old.

I'm kind of impressed by how much plant there is in such a small pot. I would be putting something like that in a pot about 5 times bigger. But hey, it's good to see that I'm nowhere near the limits. Smiling

I've only had it for a day and a half. I'm glad they kept it in a small pot because it means less money for shipping and more money to spend on other plants. Green Grin!

Id have to take it that growing yucca from seeds is a long and painstaking process. Im only left with one brevifolia seedling, and a few others, one of which was alledgely baccata.....

I grew 2 BC natives (valida and capensis) and they were about 10cm tall after a few months. After 4 years they are now filling 3 gallon (25cm) pots and have reached what I consider to be landscape size. That seems reasonably fast for a desert tree. I would imagine the different species (and hybrids and cultivars) vary a lot in how fast they grow. It's going to be several years before there's anything resembling a trunk on my plants.
