We have been away since Wednesday and just got back. I had wondered how they got there myself. It is possible that they were the remnants of a beautification effort there, but at this point I will never know. That area is even more overgrown now and the exact location I dug those plants is now about 2-3' in the woods.

Kind of fun to hear how people come by things like this sometimes.

I'm getting an early bloom season here too this year, I have a lot of scapes already though mine haven't started blooming yet.

Laura have you used that white NOID. I think you should as it has great form.

I have not used it. I like the flower, but the branching and bud count is not high. It might be interesting to see what would happen if it were crossed with one that has better branching and bud count. It is apparently not a great increaser as I have had it for 4 years and it still is only 2 fans.

Hmmm,. Put it with a good increaser that has good branching and bud count. Also might look at one with a great pattern,.

Finally had a chance to label a few more days. I am really behind. It did not help that we went on a combined business/pleasure trip over the weekend. While we were out to dinner on my birthday (the 18th) my DH said that he had to go on an unexpected business trip to NASA's Michoud Assembly Facility which is right outside New Orleans. The meeting was just for a day (May 24th) and he was originally going to drive down on Wednesday and come back after the meeting ended at 3:00PM on Thursday. He asked me if the kids and I wanted to come along and instead we would make a long weeked and come back on Memorial Day. The kids last 1/2 day of school was Wednesday the 23rd so it worked out great. We stayed in the French Quarter in NO, went sight seeing Friday and drove to Orange Beach AL on Saturday to spend the weekend at the beach. Came back on Monday. Lots of fun.

Wow, I've missed this thread all month too and just got caught up on all your May blooms. You have so many beauties, but the ones that I jotted down the names of were Purple Pinwheel, Blues Avenue, Spacecoast Devil's Eye and Baby Boomer. All really impressive! Boy, I sure hope my Lavender Curls looks as good as yours Laura. Mine grows very slow up here. Really like Firefly Frenzy!!!

I like it too. The only complaint I might have about it is that the scapes are not strong ang they lean quite a bit here. Lavender Curls was a bonus plant from Linda Michaels. She also sent Heavenly Curls as a bonus plant in the same order. This is the bloom from last year.

Firefly Frenzy does give a good show. A different photo from the same day.
